CHESAPEAKE STORYTELLING FESTIVAL - September 16, 2017
Coming in 2017! Our FABULOUS 2nd Annual Chesapeake Storytelling Festival with professional tellers
And more. Watch our list of Storytellers grow!
Storytelling Festival. What's It All About?
Listen Laugh Cry! It's stories presented by Professional Storytellers for your entertainment.
NO! It's NOT about you. YOU DON'T tell your story (like you do to your spouse and friends!)
Come and spend a full day listening to national and local oral storytellers at inside venues of the Chesapeake College on Maryland's beautiful Eastern Shore. Stories of adventure, history, and tall tales.
As you listen, you will be transported to places where memories and magic are captured and woven into tales that will make you laugh and cry. Come and live the imaginary!
We have some of the BEST storytellers in the country on our program, right here on the Eastern Shore of MD!
At this family friendly event, tellers and performers will entertain you with activities and music designed for adults and kids. An array of food vendors will be on hand with savory treats.
Mark your Calendars now for September 16, 2017 (school kids September 15).

Tim Lowry - With a Southern manner and a droll side-wit, Tim Lowry is equally at home in an Appalachian log cabin, a Mandan wigwam, a New York theater, a Texas ranch house, or a South Carolina plantation. As a proud ambassador for the Sweet Tea Trail in Summerville, SC, Tim carries genuine Southern hospitality to audiences everywhere! Tim is Returning from our "pre" First Annual Festival held in April 2015.
Megan Hicks - As a 7-year-old kid, I remember considering three career paths that looked attractive - performer, writer, toy maker. I’m all grown up now, and I’m telling stories around the world, writing a lot of the stories I tell and, when I’m not performing, making art that people want to play with. I’ve realized all three of my life’s ambitions.
"After listening to...Megan, you'll understand the power of stories to move listeners to laughter, tears and everything in between." - Caroline Parr, Central Rappahannock Regional Library.
